Landscape Painting with Ikaruga!
So I am trying to break into the whole landscape business. My friend Ikaruga encouraged me! Both of us will be challenging each other on a weekly basis. This past week it was fantasy landscape. These are a couple landscape studies that I made. I will post my concept work a little later this week.

Day 110
Some brainstorming for an album cover.
So in my painting class our instructor, Pat, had use try a new technique of painting called the verdaccio method. The method achieves the illusion of seeing grey. I tried to apply the same concept to these 2 digital paintings, however I kinda of failed. They turned out to be more of a monochromatic study.

Day 80
"What? No. We can't stop here. This is bat country. " 12 hr Study. ehh, should have spent more time with the drawing. Really struggled with this one. As you can see, I tried to play with my brushes in this piece. I am starting to get tried of that dull, digital rendering. Paintings look a lot more interesting if there is some tooth in the piece.
If you may wonder how I suddenly jumped to day 80, here is the reason why: Before I was only counting days that I would complete a painted study, however, now I have changed plans. I am going to count every single day of the 365 day challenge (Deathline Challenge), which started November 5th, 2011. I figured I would go this route because I dont always have the time to make a painting. For days I do not paint, I mainly spend my hours studying technical aspects of drawing like anatomy and perspective. I will probably not upload all the studies that I do but I will try my best to consistently post what I have been learning. I have made some modification to my 365 day challenge and I will shortly update that list. Thanks for staying in tune.
